Does my song have to be professionally recorded?
No, you can even just sing your song into a tape recorder. As long as you include a lyric sheet and we can make out the melody, your entry will receive full consideration.

Can I enter more than one song?
Yes. We encourage you to send as many songs as you like to showcase your talent as a songwriter; however, a separate entry form, fee and lyric sheet has to be included with each song.

Is there an age limit?
Yes, you must be 13 years of age or older.

What if I am a professional?
Everyone qualifies to enter unless you have a current staff writing position or publishing contract with another publisher. Please call 615-942-5245 if you are unsure about your eligibility.

What is the deadline?
The early deadline (for a reduced entry fee) is November 15th and the final deadline is December 1st, 2012.

What is a critique?
If you pay extra for a critique, you will receive a written form from one of the judges giving their feedback on your song.

What is posting?
If you pay extra for posting, your song will be uploaded on the for extra exposure.

When will the winner be announced?
The winner will be announced on or before December 31st 2012.

Do entries have to be received or postmarked by November 15th to get the early deadline reduced rate?
Your entry must be postmarked by November 15th 2012 to get the early deadline reduced rate.

Do entries have to be received or postmarked by December 1st to meet the final deadline?
Your entry must be RECEIVED by December 1st 2012 to meet the final deadline.

Do I give away the rights to my song to enter the contest?
You do not give up any rights to enter. If you win the contest, you maintain your songwriter royalties, but you give your publishing rights so they can get your song cut.
